The quick answer

Write or upload your document, add the US recipient, choose Certified Mail, inspect the print preview and full price, then pay. Keep the order confirmation and the postal records as they become available.

1. Prepare the letter and address

Use a complete US recipient address. If you have a finished PDF, check that every page is readable and in the correct order. If you are starting with a message, a service with a browser writer lets you create the letter there.

PieterPost supports writing or PDF upload for US Certified Mail. Mail a Letter Online accepts several document and photo formats. Choose the input method that gives you a clear final print preview.

2. Choose the postal product and receipt

Select Certified Mail explicitly in the order. If you need a signature record, check the Return Receipt option and whether it is electronic or paper. A generic “tracked” label is not enough to establish the same service.

Read the final price for your page count and selected options. Confirm the address area, print settings, mailing class, and any extra document sheet. A production estimate describes preparation or dispatch; it is not the same as recipient delivery.

3. Keep the records for each stage

After payment, save the order confirmation. When the provider supplies USPS tracking or acceptance information, keep that too. Download the return receipt if you selected one and it becomes available.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Do I need to print the Certified letter myself?

Not when you choose a managed printing and mailing service. It prepares the physical letter and submits it to USPS.

Can I send a US Certified letter while abroad?

Services with an online order flow can arrange mailing to a US address. Check sender eligibility, payment, and address requirements with the chosen provider.
